At 601 Sports, we make it easier for everyone to enjoy sports and outdoors! Our owner, Jason Martin-Nez, grew up in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where he was actively involved in athletics and outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. Owning a local business that specialized in sports and recreation products was a dream of his for years.

In 2010, that dream became a reality when Jason acquired The Sports Center in Vicksburg. In 2015, the second location opened in Brookhaven, expanding the store’s footprint and offerings even further throughout Mississippi. That same year Ryno Martin-Nez joined the business as a partner after graduating from Louisiana Tech where he was on the baseball team. The name 601 Sports pays homage to the Martin-Nez family hometown and original location in Vicksburg.

We take pride in treating every customer who comes into the store just like family. Helping people find the equipment, clothing and shoes that are best suited for their needs is what we love! We believe that nothing is better than strong Southern hometown values and we strive to do our best for our customers every single day.
